Negros Occidental | The Ruins

The Ruins
Talisay City, Negros Occidental

"The Ruins of the mansion of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson was built in loving memory of his deceased wife Maria Braga after her death in 1911.
The mansion, of Italianate architecture was designed to be a monument of their enduring love affair.
In the eve of World War II in 1942, the mansion was torched by the guerrilla fighters and was burning for 3 days leaving behind of a glorious past." -History Told

An undying love for his babe was the reason behind this beautiful mansion, depicting through every details of the structure.  A romantic place that serves as tourist destination in the Province of Negros Occidental.

How to get there!

The Ruins was my Day-4 in my Itinerary after Iloilo. Getting there is not a hassle to everyone who wish to visit the place, from Bacolod City (Public Plaza), ride a jeepney  bound to Bata (Jeepney Signage is Bata - Libertad) tell the driver to drop you off at the street going to The Ruins. Fare is only 7 pesos (minimum fare that's as of April 2016). A signboard "This Way Going to The Ruins" is visible, tricycles are in line waiting for passengers, tell the driver that you're going to The Ruins, 20 pesos each and trike can accommodate up to 5 passengers, if you're tired of waiting for some passengers, you may rent the tricycle instead going there alone for 50 pesos one way. Ask the driver to wait for you at The Ruins because there are no tricycles available there.

The Ruins Signage, gateway to the Mansion.

I was amazed by this tree, take a look at it... This is just located less than a hundred meters from The Ruins Entrance.

Fees Signboard is hangin' at the Entrance Gate
